Cannabis thriving in the rabbit colony cannabis garden with minimal effort

The cannabis was transplanted in the rabbit colony on May 13th. I chose to plant high on the slope closer together this season. After a few years of observation, I think this area gets the best sun exposure so the plants grow best here.

To start this season, I dug soil from the low area of the rabbit colony to fertilize the cannabis. Any excess nutrients have been caught in this area. So far, I've only watered once right after transplanting, thanks the soil rich in organic matter and the wood chip/straw mulch.

The ladybugs showed up almost immediately and are doing their work to keep the pest pressure on the plants in check.

The plants are in the ground 10 days earlier than last season and are all looking healthy. I've been able to determine the sex on them and have started to pull the males to feed to the rabbits. I have selected one male which I will keep and let it drop pollen for a few days before removing it so the plants can produce seed, which is the main yield I'm looking for.

I'm looking forward to see how big I can get the cannabis to grow this season. I will be feeding chicken composted horse manure after replacing all the males with more female plants in the next week or so.

More details about how I grow the cannabis from 2023
Cannabis starts are planted in the rabbit colony!

Selected the 12 largest plants of each of the f1 crosses (pineapple pomegranate x super lemon haze)

The roots were ready for a bigger pot a few days ago better transplanted sooner than later.

Each plant gets 10gal composted horse manure broad forked in along with 5gal of sheep manure packed straw as mulch. Will add more throughout the summer. Rows are planted on counter with the slope for maximum water catchment.

After growing and breeding cannabis for a few years, I have finally arrived at a method which requires no outside inputs. Seed from previous seasons, growing substrate various compost/sand/soils found on the homestead, pots used 1gal vinegar jugs, rabbit exclusion rings from prior seasons. The only true expense this season has been my time.

By integrating the rabbits and the cannabis together I get higher yields of both. The rabbits weed and fertilize the cannabis and the excess cannabis feeds the rabbits. The cannabis will also provide shade and additional protection for the rabbits. After last seasons failures, I'm excited to see what this system can produce this go around!
