Before 1913:
-Americans had direct veto power against the government.
-For the government to borrow any money, it had to go to the people.
-No central banks, they had to sell bonds. If the people didn't want it, they wouldn't buy the bonds.
This was a sound system that gave we the people the power — stopping the government from printing unlimited money and making you pay for it.
Think about it, if they just print money, why do we pay taxes?
