Daring to ask if Bitcoin will really change everything, or just make things a bit less crappy than they are right now, and slow down the rate at which we're all trying to destroy ourselves. I personally accept the more pragmatic line that we won't be fixing the world any time soon, but it doesn't prevent us from having better money and making tyrants think twice.

The global dictator will be a malevolent genius who has stacked, confiscated, and consolidated a large enough hoard of bitcoin so as to command respect and submission from lesser kings, who give way to his superior action. He will overturn this current babylon system, with the now all-too-obvious-evil that it flaunts daily to make us hate it, and he will take it's place.

But he hasn't shown up yet, and he may not appear in my generation, so... in the mean time, I'm making hay while the summer lasts.

Also, on social status...
