The mechanism is already in the medium tag. Basically a feed is created with a bunch of remote items pointing to other feeds, and the medium is set for podcastL or musicL (the L means list), then the apps know it's a playlist of other feeds. Totally workable, but I'm not aware of any apps that are implementing it.
