A 62 year old German man received 217 shots of COVID vaccine over the course of 29 months through private treatment, and he's... absolutely fine. In fact, there's a good chance he's doing better than most because, perhaps unsurprisingly, there's no evidence he has ever contracted COVID.
So what's the grim part? Well the story was uncovered because the city of Magdeburg suspected fraud, and opened an investigation. It seems likely, but difficult to prove in court, that the man has been acquiring and selling proof of vaccination receipts to folks hopped up on reactionary conspiracy theories and afraid of getting the COVID vaccine; ultimately, no charges were filed.
As always, the lesson here is that getting your public health information from billionaire reactionary techbros on Twitter, fascist QAnon websites, and your drunk racist uncle's Facebook account is no way to stay informed - and in the long run it just might kill you, or at least leave you exposed to serious health consequences.
