we had total fly death in the house back in 2019, literally thousands of them over about 2 weeks. didn't really even have an issue with live ones buzzing around, they would just show up dead on the windowsills by the dozen.
have no idea what happened, it never happened again in that house or any of the ones i've lived in since.
