some general advice:

1. If you see something wrong with your environment, either fix it or leave, but don't tolerate it
2. If you notice yourself internally "othering" someone, in that you treat them differently from people more like yourself, try to consciously resist that impulse and just treat people like people.
3. Learn and practice good listening, and deploy that skill in listening to the people around you, particularly "others", to make them less other.
4. Respect boundaries
