In the financial industry, we had to submit all our podcasts to the regulatory agency FINRA for review, and the transcript was part of submitted docs. Since we had to transcribe the podcast anyway, we started publishing them as well (for accessibility) and it boosted our search results (both benefits you pointed out).
The company's podcast theme was Islamic finance, which contains many Arabic terms and proper names that Google would NEVER get right. That is why we always published transcripts on our YouTube channel as well. Automated transcription was simply not an option for us. Better to have full control of your own transcript if you ask me.
So, I'd add "Full creative control" to your list.
