Linux is a worse desktop OS than Windows, full stop.
After years of grief that the Linux community gave Windows over setting Default Apps, today I discover that Linux apps can just as easily choose to ignore your stated preferences, in something like what browser you want them to use, by just using a BROWSER environment variable, that Python sets. I know I didn't set that variable, and I know this Python app uses it, so I'm pretty damn sure Python decided how to set it, without asking or telling ME. So congrats Linux, you managed to be more obscure and hidden about your Default Applications settings than Windows. Go fuck yourself. Sincerely, Me.
