Housing market and rent prices are so out of control here in Ontario. Mortgage rules are $100k down for homes >$1 million, which is most detatched or semi-detached in metropolitan areas.
The only people my age who I know own property either:
has gf/wife who is also a significant earner OR,
had parents pay their down payment and co-sign
in fact most men I know have been living as described in the image SINCE their 20s
