He was also completely off base with his comment about segwit and miners. Miners DID NOT take a major hit on fees with the change. He is completely misinformed.
I have looked at around 5,000 blocks pre and post segwit, and again in the past 2 years. The amount of TX went from around 1200-1500 per block, to an average of 4500 today.
Changing to the current weight system increased transactions almost 3x on average. The blocks have almost the exact same BTC fee as they did in 2015(when full blocks happened), 2016, as they do today.
The miners weren't deprived of their rights from the change, they literally saw virtually no difference. Fees dropped, TX increased.
