I believe that courses from Coursera (IBM), Udemy + chatgpt and a lot of youtube videos, would be a great start. He needs to master the basics in Python, Statistics, SQL and know how business works to have a nice foudation.
I'm doing the same thing plus reading books of O'Reilly and articles on Medium/Twitter. You need to dive in every content of Data Science every single day.
