Extremely unpopular opinion on Fedi: migration is not a universal yes/no question. I am not in favour of unrestricted, anything goes migration, especially not in a small, densely populated country like The Netherlands. We have a housing shortage of like 350000 homes; there simply isn't any room, and I think it's entirely understandable for people to be worried about that.
However, for me, this does not apply to anyone fleeing war, persecution, or similar horrible things. Refugees should always be welcomed, cared for, and aided in whatever way necessary, not in the least because chances are that whatever they're fleeing from, us westerners probably had a hand in sowing the seeds for it.
