One interesting tidbit is the evolution of the Pioneer FM tuners. The analog tuners went from 20.1 dBf sensitivity (late 70s) to 16.3 db sensitity (early 80s) and then, when they went to digital...they moved to 12dBf and then to 11.3dBF (mid 80s).
That's quite an improvement in less than 10 years.
