After coming across many articles about #nostr over the past few months, I decided it would be worth checking out. After starting an account to try it I feel like it is overwhelmingly populated by cryptocurrency and bitcoin folk. No disrespect to anyone on that network, but it just feels like such a different community than on here on #ActivityPub and #Mastodon. What led to this type of social distribution? Why is cryptocurrency so connected to Nostr?
