Dream Chaser spaceplane nears flight readiness with completion of key pre-flight tests

Sierra Space's Dream Chaser spaceplane, named Tenacity, has completed key pre-flight tests, bringing it closer to flight readiness. The tests included extensive vibration assessments to simulate launch conditions and evaluate the spacecraft's durability and operational reliability. The Dream Chaser and its cargo module, Shooting Star, underwent Sine Vibration Testing, Separation Shock Test, and wing deployment test. The testing phase also included 'Joint Test #3', which assessed the spaceplane's post-launch operations and its compatibility with the International Space Station (ISS). Following the completion of the tests, the Shooting Star cargo module was separated from the Dream Chaser and moved to the In-Space Propulsion (ISP) facility for further assessments. The Dream Chaser and the cargo module will undergo thermal vacuum testing at the ISP facility. Sierra Space aims to commercialize space with the Dream Chaser spaceplane.
