It’s not unwelcome, just because I disagree with it. By ceding the language of morality to the right wing, the left has abandoned a vital tool of human cognition. We are moralizing creatures. That is why the right has been so successful they speak to a desire for a moral framework for the world. Socialist ideals should be framed in moral terms because that is how they will be best understood by most humans.
