Tengus of Chaos:
Not all tengu have been civilized. There are still individuals and clans of tengu who behave in the same way as the youkai of old, even though they have become half uman. In addition to the same actions they committed in the age of chaos: kidnapping, cheating, theft, looting, murder... They know how to disguise their own villages and clans as good tengu in order to outsmart them. In the current era, their favorite targets are not only human beings, but also civilized tengu and even other good youkai women. They like to infiltrate both societies looking for dissatisfied or potentially depraved individuals to recruit into the chaos clans. Other than that, they foment incidents, falsehood and mistrust. They encourage infidelity in men, greed in the daitengu and envy in the kotengu. They especially like to make tengu and humans of high character decay, mocking the highest virtues.
Daitengu of chaos are especially terrible; they lead clans of kotengu and seek mastery in disciplines of power and influence to better spread destruction. They cause tornadoes, floods and other natural disasters out of whim or fury.
"It's frustrating that anti-tenguists have such sharp eyes for them and are blind to the rest of us." - Karasu-tengu reporter from Youkai Mountain.
"Anti-tenguism is a natural response to evil in a population derived from the love that other people have for themselves. We also hate those who hurt us. Can a love be said to be true if there is no possibility of fear, hatred or sadness?" - Daitengu of Autumn Hill

Tengu in love:
In the age of women, when the tengu began to fancy men, the method often used was to spirit away desired partners to their nest of love or lust. Although tengu society has become more formalized, there are still towns and clans where young tengu snatch away their crushes to private places. Maintaining this “tradition” is publicly discouraged by the tengu, but it is suspected that the real tendency is to look bad when a young lady disappears for a few days with a boy.
"It's just for the girl and the guy to get to know each other better. And to ensure a lead against other monster girls. There's no naughtiness... Okay, not too much naughtiness." - Karasu-tengu from Mont Blanc
Kotengu, wolves and crows, inspect towns and villages looking for clusters of good men to marry. With the support of the daitengu and sometimes with other monster girls and human women, they put on performances, meetings and festivals to help form couples. Some, in turn, take advantage of the patrol or jobs in human society to be the first in line to choose.
One of the expectations placed on the daitengu is support in winning over men. They in turn reserve for themselves the privilege of choosing their men first, but the tengu aristocracy demands that the men chosen be of high lineage: nobles, rulers and the powerful in order to guarantee a good lineage and expand their power. Although some of the world's nobility have learned that relationships need to be harmonious to ensure peace on the throne, this doesn't expand the selection of candidates beyond the high castes.
There are many dramas, epics and tragic stories of daitengu who fell in love with humble men. And also of kotengu who fell in love with princes and nobles promised to daitengu.
Due to the high concentration of tengu, some daitengu allow the formation of harems as a way of appeasing their need for men. The number and type of harems varies in each clan, but a daitengu never shares her husband with another daitengu.
"And of course, there are fights, jealousies and disputes in polygamous relationships. Not just any man can manage that, and a woman won't put up with any lickspittle. But monogamy, with so few men available, isn't exactly an option either..." - Karasu-tengu, 3rd wife
