- it took ~14 years to get to 5.6 GB
- thanks to ordinals and friends it took 1 year to double that
- you can't run a pruned node (and BTCPay Server) anymore on a cheap 20 GB VPS
Tell me how it is just degens gambling and not an attack.
We not even talk about how the exploit can be used to cause controlled fee spikes or degen fuled long time high fee phases harming normal monetary transactions. It is subtle but it is a huge attack vector nevertheless. Just look how Stuxnet was carried out, those are the attacks we need to expect not the obvious short term effects.
