The Veilstitcher's Needle appears as an ornate sewing needle crafted from shimmering silver, its slender form adorned with delicate engravings that depict scenes of celestial bodies and flowing fabric. The eye of the needle is filled with a swirling mist that seems to shift and dance with unseen energies. When held, the needle emits a faint, soothing hum, resonating with the magic woven into its essence.
Properties:
Fabric of Reality: As an action, you can use the Veilstitcher's Needle to mend tears in the fabric of reality itself. When you do so, choose a point within 30 feet of you where a planar rift, dimensional breach, or other similar anomaly exists. You must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence check. On a success, the anomaly is sealed, preventing creatures from passing through it for 24 hours. On a failure, the needle becomes nonmagical until the next dawn.
Thread of Connection: While attuned to the Veilstitcher's Needle, you gain advantage on Intelligence (Arcana) checks related to planar travel, extradimensional spaces, or the manipulation of magical barriers or wards.
Weave of Fate: Once per long rest, you can use an action to unravel a length of the Veilstitcher's Needle's misty thread and weave it into a magical sigil. When you do so, you gain advantage on your next saving throw against a spell or magical effect targeting you. Additionally, if the saving throw is successful, you can choose to cast Dimension Door as a reaction, teleporting up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.
Activation:
The Veilstitcher's Needle requires attunement by a creature with proficiency in the Tailor's Tools or Weaver's Tools.
Curse:
If a creature attempts to attune to the Veilstitcher's Needle and has ill intentions or seeks to exploit its powers for personal gain, the needle rejects them with a surge of arcane energy, dealing 2d6 force damage and breaking the attunement. The needle becomes nonmagical for that creature until attuned by a creature of neutral or good alignment.
Value:
The Veilstitcher's Needle is a rare magical item, and its value is estimated to be around 4,000 gold pieces.
