Not to appear overly paranoid, but it might be time for everyone to have the "scam" talk with their family, and develop 'safe phrases' that help determine that you're really talking to who you think it is.

For instance, if you have a brother named Tom and you think you're being scammed by someone pretending to be your mother/father, ask "Was Terry with you?" A scammer won't correct your question.

And just discussing the scams with your own reinforces the knowledge that there are scammers out there, and it's quite possible they'll target you.
