It's bad for YOUR privacy, but obviously isn't bad for an entity that is doing it's upmost to not be private for reasons of transparency.

Reusing an address means every transaction you make leaves an immediately identifiable footprint of who made that transaction (or at least who received it). Every time the same address is used, it is immediately known that it is going to the same person. It's like printing out your bank account statement and posting it at a nearby bus stop, albeit with your name blanked out.

And while later spends may mix two UTXOs from two distinct addresses and thus link funds if you have poor coin control, at least by not reusing the address you're not doing this *immediately* and by *default*.
