It's this EXACT framing I'm referring to. Please spare me the whole "lightning can't scale to every man women and child on the planet, you should know that" arguments.

No comment on the CEO of Lightning, but the *authors* of Lightning were at at pains to point out to people multiple times in public talks in the year or two after its release, the scaling limitations it had (including specifically that it does not scale to billions).

And it still is a scaling solution, even given its limitations.
