it's very weird to me that first the far right and now the left don't get that corporate media are not truly the public square.

I used to run a somewhat influential antifascist fb page. Over a two week period fb shutdown dozens of antifascist pages. Why? Because it's not the public square. They don't want to end up on the wrong end of the actions of a random group who has an account on their sites. 🤷‍♂️
