I don't understand why there's a debate about whether a GIF needs to be decentralized. Even if the client doesn't have the GIF, everyone simply copies centralized GIFs and downloads them to re-upload on nostr.build. #Nostr users just want a convenient #GIF library, not the hassle of repeatedly copying and pasting. Even if Nostr's client ends up being banned by Google and Meta, other GIF libraries can be utilized. Freerse's own GIF collection won't be subject to review and banning; he can collect GIFs from all platforms. Freerse's solution is to provide users with a GIF collection. Users can discover GIFs they like while browsing posts and add them directly to their GIF collection. They can also create GIFs locally and upload them to their GIF collection. In most cases, Freerse's own GIF collection meets everyone's chatting needs.
We don't need to reinvent the wheel; we need developers to put thought and wisdom into the user experience.
If we completely reject centralization, developing a mobile client wouldn't be appropriate.
