True diversity is diversity of age, opinion, politics, skill, ability, religion, experience, culture, etc. But the people who typically make noise about diversity don't actually want any of that; they typically don't tolerate diversity of opinion or politics whatsoever. They just want less white people. That's what "diversity" usually means in practice. I think that's why it has become a bad word because the abusive doublespeak it has been employed for has ruined its actual meaning. But true, actual diversity is something any reasonable person would support.
