I've been thinking a lot about Bitcoin and Alexis de Tocqueville. I believe Tocqueville would be a Bitcoiner. Tocqueville was very very concerned about democracy as it advanced in human history, but he also believed that if it was well-practiced it would protect us from tyranny. Complicated guy. He would be concerned - if not surprised - in 2023. In some ways he predicted it before anyone else. Check out this quote.
