They/Them is not a new concept in the English language. We've been using they in the singular all this time, but just don't think about it.
Example:
'Someone left their umbrella at work yesterday. I hope they remember to grab it tomorrow.'
In this example, we use 'they' to indicate a person whose gender is unknown. If we can apply that logic when addressing someone without gender specifics, it becomes easier to remember.
For the sake of respect, we make an effort for our #Nonbinary besties.
