Yesterday I dug out some very old Pro Tools session and due to various plugins not being used now (Waves mostly) the tracks were pretty bare… and it sounded so much better than the version I mixed back then with all the plugins!
I used to think production and mixing was to do as many chops as possible. Now I know it’s mostly about getting rid of shit that’s in the way.
