Something I’m working on. Would love your feedback.

"Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced."

John Keats

To understand why past economic systems have failed, and how the roots of our current system have evolved, children must be immersed into the economic systems of the past, present, and future. If we want them to demand a better system moving forward, they must understand where the current system came from. This is what I am attempting to do with the curriculum I am desigining.

Through play and real experiences the curricuulum attempts to demonstrate what is wrong with the current system and how they can change the course of history by demanding an economy that is built upon the ideals of personal responsibility and self sovereignty.

It is my belief that children are leaving school without the financial knowledge to fully understand what money is and how economies function. They are leaving school with an ingrained dependence on third parties for the most important aspects of their lives.

I have little faith that these topics are being taught in schools. Therefore, it falls on each of us as advocates for bitcoin and digital sovereignty, to teach our children that these ideas are worth fighting for. We need to teach children that convenience does not trump responsibility, and that they can take back control of their money, their economy, and their data.

For a new system to succeed, we must convince the current users of the old system that it is inferior to the one we are trying to build. Children must first understand money in its current form, before they will seek out and demand an alternative. They need to understand the problems with past economic systems and why they failed. Lastly, they need to understand what it means to be digitally sovereign and censorship resistant, by reducing their dependency on third parties. Then, and only then, can we expect them to understand how bitcoin and decentralized protocols allow freedom to flourish.

Students are being taught that they should trust the government to protect the purchasing power of their money, and to cede control and protection of their personal data to large tech monopolies. My curriculum attempts to break these chains of dependency. This curriculum attempts to destroy the fallacy that the world is too complex and too dangerous for individuals to be responsible for their money and their personal data.
