I think that take borders on victim-blaming.

People born on welfare are still having kids, they have the same financial security as their parents. Poverty, but secure.

Its those who "own nothing" and are unhappily working three jobs to pay for other people's lifestyles who struggle with perpetual renting, decaying schools, predatory bureaucrats, and never seeing their spouse awake.

If we just say "oh well, just don't get married and don't have kids until you have Boomer-level financial security", then that's half the population that won't get married at all.

That sounds wildly unsustainable, politically.
