People on the WorldNews sub on Reddit probably don't know much about French politics. Many are calling the snap elections a genius move from Macron.
His goal never was to stop the far right. The far-right had almost no power on the national level. His goal was... well, nobody is too sure, probably to actually give the power to the Far-Right to be able to say "See how bad it is, you should vote for us" at the next election. Who knows?
But what we know for sure is that he definitely didn't want nor plan for the Left to win. He hates the Left more than the Far Right. The Left is challenging capitalism and neo-liberalism more and more. The Far Right doesn't, quite the opposite.
