I think a simulated reality is a high possibility, but to me the point of FE is that it exposes the fact that they are lying about most things. The path of the sun can adequately be explained froma geocentric point of view. Astrophysicists that don't lie will admit to the kinematic and dynamic equivalences of the two opposing models, therefore that cannot be presented as exclusive evidence.
