Six years ago there was a data breach on Equifax that spilled private financial information on half of all Americans. My information was part of that breach, and, as a remedy, there is a settlement that is currently being paid out.
So, to make this right, I finally received my $5.21. This more than makes up for all of the headaches of freezing my credit and increasing my security and privacy.
All sarcasm aside, it was a blessing. Sometimes, you need to get burned.
