Bitcoin is a threat to the political system because it is the soundest money in the world.
Some powerful people don't like that. Old CP isn't something that gives them a legitimate pretext to do anything. New CP would.
It would be incredibly politically niave for BTC, which doesn't need to allow content, to allow content.
BTC is money. It should be money only. Other chains can and platforms can have content, and dealing with those issues, is their problem.
And plenty of people in BTC don't like ordinals for reasons of bloat and harder to run nodes, so it's not like it's in any way settled that ordinals are good for Bitcoin, only that some people think they are.
Anyway, bottom line is this hands our enemies a way to shut down BTC by a legal attack on nodes, and if the nodes are closed, bitcoin is rendered useless and valueless.
There is no reason for bitcoin to take this risk. So, it shouldn't.
