Being an atheist is admittedly difficult sometimes.

It's freeing in a sense, but freedom has consequences.

It's fully on me to determine what my purpose for living is and what my morals are. I also have to rely more on myself during hard times, but friends and family can be helpful if utilized.

A lot of things were decided for me by default at birth (religion, philosophy, etc). Losing those defaults in early adulthood forced me to search for a philosophical framework that is most compatible with the reality I live in.

For me, that's Objectivism.

Being an Atheist in the southern United States was particularly challenging, especially as a young adult not yet practiced in resisting peer pressure.

I lost very close friends and probably would have disappointed my parents had they been alive.

I forgot where I was going with this. Peace.
