I dig the video. Well said. I get what Apple is trying to do. But they will never fully replace traditional mediums. As an artist I actually hate drawing on a screen. It is convenient and cheaper in the long run. But I behave differently than I do when I'm using pens, markers, paints. Sorry for the long post 😅

I do have an iPad and I have to say it is my favorite screen to draw on compared to others. But when I try to create digitally I am not being creative, I'm being technical. I have to have the sketch and idea already laid out, there is no messy creative process. You have to understand how the program works and which features to use when. Sometimes you have to troubleshoot, or figure a way to format the file so the tech doesn't crash. And then there are all the distractions. There is no separation between social media, work, school, fun, and the creative process. If I'm drawing on a piece of paper, that is it. My only interruption would have to be physical.

We forget technology is just a tool, you don't have to limit yourself to whatever it is Apple thinks: that iPad should be the end all be all. I use the iPad because it works for certain things but that's it. I honestly sketch more on pen and paper.

The fact that an ad from Apple can bring such a reaction from people means they've already bought into the concept. That maybe they haven't touched traditional media in awhile and forgotten about it. Hopefully it reminded people to pick up a paint brush, or an instrument.
