He did when he tried to return the silver, but there's no indication he ever got saved by believing on Jesus, the son of the living God. He killed himself before Jesus even resurrected iirc.

But it doesn't mean he turned his heart towards God, only that he wished he wouldn't have betrayed Jesus. Regret. But regret doesn't mean God forgives you, and regret doesn't mean you place your faith on Christ.

When a meth head regrets doing meth when he's already stolen a bronco and being chased by 5 cop cars it really doesn't change much. He regrets the consequences not that he wanted to be upright in heart. Not a perfect illustration.

Wether he betrayed Jesus or not, he never sook the Lord, Jesus knew he wouldn't, and that's why he was chosen as a disciple so the scriptures could be fulfilled.

He was able to be possessed by the devil because he didn't have the holy spirit inside of him, because he was not a child of God but a child of hell.

Judas spent 3 years with Jesus while he was evangelizing and never believed on him once.

Repentance doesn't matter in terms of heaven or hell unless that repentance means "turning to God for your salvation."
