The petitioner failed to appear before the court and sent an email stating that he was out of the country. The Chief Justice read the email in court, expressing surprise that the petitioner filed the petition and left the country the next day. The court confirmed that the email belonged to the petitioner and noted that he had traveled to Bahrain via a connecting flight from Doha. The Additional Attorney General informed the court that the police went to the petitioner's house but he was not there. The petitioner, Ali Khan, is a former brigadier who was court-martialed in 2012.
