The Wall Street Journal has reported that support for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia has been increasing since Kiev's counteroffensive failed last year. While a majority of Ukrainians still want to keep fighting to retake all territories captured by Russia, opinion polls show that more people are open to the idea of negotiating with Moscow. The Ukrainian military is the most skeptical group, with only 18% of active-duty troops and veterans in favor of talks. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has called for NATO to keep arming Kiev and increase pressure on Moscow to agree to a peace plan.
