This is absolutely fundamental for the social dynamic of that situation. It's the reason why you don't see much criticism.

I suggest everybody checks out r/exmuslim to see the crazy situations and social dynamic people have to go through. It's very sad.

It's not normal. It's just that it is one more of those socially accepted things that history will definitely not be kind with. And then in 100 years you'll see all the professional outragers going crazy but with the other side...
