Google 'Warburg effect'. Cancer preferentially uses glucose for metabolism. It is probably impossible to completely "starve out cancer" because ~20% of its metabolism is derived from glutamate, but a ketogenic diet and fasting should imo always be discussed with a cancer patient as an adjunct to regular cancer treatment.
But then again, who will buy all that sweet ensure/prosure drink slop made by big food?
