When you worship Ganesha, you surrender to a form, which is an idol.

Not everyone does that these days, but that’s the original way of worshipping.
Nowadays, we boost both ego and desire when we worship god idols.
Ego boosting happens when we try to create a social status around bringing Ganesha home, and desire boosting happens when we ask for thousands of things from Ganesha before we bring him home.
But when you surrender yourself fully without any ego or desire, you embark on the journey of consciousness, and you start seeing positive changes around your life. Money starts attracting you, your relationships begin to improve, your mind becomes calm and peaceful, and you start living a happy life... but it’s not forever.
Maya will keep trying to snatch it away from you in the form of ego, desire, past memories, outside influences, challenges, health issues, and many other forms.
That’s when you need to embody Ganesha in yourself, fight like Ganesha as you read in his stories where he fought various demons.
You need to use your intelligence like Ganesha, and you need to follow your dharma just as Ganesha did whenever his Gan asked him for protection.
When you follow this path of becoming Ganesha, you become liberated from all kinds of thoughts and reach a state of pure consciousness, which brings compassion for human beings.
