Habeck and the embarrassing hubris

Karl Valentin is credited with the bon mot of 'not even ignoring' his counterpart in annoying situations. He may well have been describing the emotions of the Americans (who noticed him at all) triggered by Germany's so-called Minister for Economic Affairs, Robert Habeck, when, in the most embarrassing schoolmasterly hubris, he reproached the Americans for their misguided economic policy during his exit from the German madhouse to the USA.

You should solve your 'fucking problems', said the rhetorical superstar and 'philosopher of power', who, as clueless as ever but fresh and free, commented on the state of the economy (his specialty) and pointed out that it was his merit to lead Germany back onto the path of economic virtue.

From a German perspective, it is fortunate that foreign countries are politely keeping a mantle of silence over this chaotic government and ideological lunatics. But it is precisely this inconceivable degree of personal hubris that figures like Habeck and other representatives of German doom politics and climate apocalypse carry into the world without scruples, which in the long run evokes a bland aftertaste of the most primitive provincialism.

If one succeeds in jumping off the German Titanic individually, physically or financially, this stupid comedy turns out to be what it is: the most embarrassing, but at the same time most entertaining doomsday ceremony this country has seen since 1945.
