What is happening in Nigeria at the moment seems far away to all Westerners who live in their daily comfort.

Many think that their governments will not put them in the same situation in the future.

It is a mistake in my opinion to think that because you live in the West, you will not be confronted with the same issues that currently affect Nigerians or Lebanese.

In Nigeria, the government is trying, by all means, to ban Bitcoin to impose its CBDC, the eNaira. The people don't want the eNaira, so the government is slowly but surely moving towards a ban on cash.

Cash withdrawals are limited for the people which is outright theft of the fruits of their labor.

Once a government puts you in this situation, it becomes more difficult to switch to the Bitcoin plan. Why? Because the fruits of your labor saved in the bank are locked up and you have to practically start from scratch.

That's why it's becoming increasingly clear that time is running out to accumulate Bitcoin as the Western governments' offensive to impose a mass surveillance society with their CBDCs is only just beginning.

You can't say in the future that you didn't know. You know what will happen to us in the West. All you have to do is look at emerging countries like Nigeria.

From there, it is up to you to opt for Bitcoin as soon as possible to secure the fruits of your labor within the most secure decentralized network in the world. The goal is clearly to place the fruits of your labor beyond the reach of governments and central bankers.

I explore this idea in more detail in the latest issue of the In Bitcoin We Trust Newsletter.
