coming from "no paperwork and everything instant" country to here i have permanent paperwork nightmares that never end (i simply do not care anymore and things happen)

everything very digital yet kinda lackluster without finnish language, fortunately google translate and smart phone have helped me several tons immensely.

people very autistically friendly, very secluded as far as i see

the average finn seems to me much more inclined to be incredibly lgbt friendly, if not being part of it, simply as a part of the natural culture. a sentence forever in my head is for many years now from a finnish woman "others, and you estonian brothers, are so behind, you never see anyone normal who just likes to paint their hair bright cyan blue in other countries"

people assume im finnish 100% of the time and start conversations with me in finnish randomly, which is a plus. i think if one would be perceived as a non-nordic person, initial openness would be intensely negatively effected.

how many times a finnish person has simply gone "huh. ok." when a deadline has dropped, and just continued the work, completely unphased from my perspective

on the plus side there seem to be atleast now several very positive seeming features, such as ease of naturalization through logical means, sans the paperwork headache. but the conditions are quite nice. health care is nice, benefits would be nice if i applied for them. for me a homely culture, a language i can always just --almost-- understand, + i have some friends in the country which also bring me closer to it in my head

food is a mixed bag, intensely mixed bag
