I started with an S9 running Braiins OS, which allowed me to tune the miner to use only the excess electricity my panels produced. I ran the miner on sunny days after our batteries were fully charged.

I’m in the process of building a direct-dc solar system that will run an s19 directly from the panels without the need for a power supply. I'll be running the heat from the miner into the home ductwork. Running direct dc is supposed to increase efficiency. I’ll see how efficient it is when I get it running, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

My experience with solar mining has been really positive so far. rev.hodl (npub1f5p…wt3z) has a thread on here about his solar mining experiences that might be a helpful resource. The Home Mining Wizards Telegram group has a lot of folks who know lots about mining in general.
