Got into it with a friend the other day about the idea that a just outcome always maximally benefits you, rather than seeing what benefits you as the just outcome.
He understood what I was saying, but argued not one tenth of one percent of humans view things this way.
He might be right, but it’s the only alternative to “might makes right.”
