Almost everything about the Japanese effort was lost. There are stories about them doing a test of a device in Korea, but it is unclear to me if they actually achieved fission. I highly doubt they did. And if there were proof of a substantial Japanese atomic effort, I would expect that the US government would have used that fact to further justify the use of the bomb.
