It is okay to ask for help with costs, that's how things keep going. It shouldn't be seen as shameful or painful, it's just how community projects are able to cover their costs 😃
I think we're so used to everything being run by corporations, it can seem weird when volunteers ask for help with costs.
People can have sponsors if they want, there's nothing technically preventing that.
